Advertising Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026. How this website is paid for, and what that does and does not buy.
How this site is funded
My Survival Zone is funded by advertising. That includes advertisements we place elsewhere to bring readers here, and it may include advertising, sponsorship or affiliate arrangements shown on these pages. We say so plainly because a reader is entitled to know who pays for what they are reading.
Affiliate disclosure
Some pages may contain links to third-party products or services. Where such a link is an affiliate link, we may receive a commission if you follow it and go on to buy something. This never changes the price you pay.
Where affiliate links are used, they are disclosed on the page that contains them, near the content they relate to and before the link itself — not only in this policy and not only in the footer.
What money does not buy
- It does not buy coverage. No advertiser, affiliate partner or sponsor decides what topics we write about.
- It does not buy a verdict. Where we describe the strengths or weaknesses of an approach or a category of product, commercial relationships play no part in that description.
- It does not buy silence. A commercial relationship never prevents us from publishing a drawback, a safety warning or a correction.
- It does not buy placement inside editorial text without that placement being labelled.
Labelling
Paid placements, sponsored content and advertisements are identified as such and are visually distinguishable from editorial content. We do not publish advertising that is designed to be mistaken for an article, for a news report, for an official notice, or for a message from a government agency or utility.
What we will not accept
We decline advertising and partnerships that:
- make health, safety or survival claims that cannot be supported;
- use fear, fabricated urgency, countdowns or invented emergencies to pressure a reader into buying;
- imitate an official warning, an emergency alert or a government communication;
- target people who are currently in an emergency;
- promote products that would be unsafe or unlawful in ordinary household use.
Our own advertising
When we advertise this website elsewhere, the same standards apply to our own material. Our advertisements describe what a reader will actually find here. We do not promise outcomes, we do not claim official status, and we do not use fake news formats, fake endorsements or fabricated testimonials.
We comply with the policies of the advertising platforms we use, including Google's advertising policies, and with applicable advertising law, including the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and disclosure where it applies.
Data and advertising
How information is handled in connection with advertising is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. In short: this website currently runs no advertising or remarketing tag of its own, and those pages will be updated before that changes.
Questions and complaints
If you believe something on this site is advertising and is not labelled as such, or that an advertisement here breaches this policy, write to advertising@mysurvivalzone.com. We investigate and respond.
